The Mostecký hippodrome is part of the Velebudice Reclamation Park, which is one of the top projects of the so-called Czech Reclamation School, which is respected worldwide. In 1973, in connection with the consideration of the use of the Velebudice spoil heap, a plan was drawn up to build a reclamation park as a recreation and health area, the dominant feature of which was a racecourse.
Eight race days are held here each year, with six hundred horses on the start lists. These figures show that the racecourse has successfully managed to rank among the top racecourses in our country and has become the North Bohemian domain of horse racing.
The unique racecourse of world-class parameters is currently one of the four "A" category racecourses in the Czech Republic. Since its foundation in 1996, the company has managed to improve the facilities by adding summer and winter stables, a sloping covered grandstand for 1,500 visitors, a judges' tower with indoor and outdoor restaurant, a parcours, operational facilities, a modern weighing room and a brand new children's play area.
